Just in time for Christmas, the Arts & Science Council along with two trumpeters from the Charlotte Symphony brought some holiday cheer to mall goers with our latest Random Act of Culture.

On Friday, Dec. 10 the musicians descended on the Macy’s at Southpark Mall in South Charlotte. Shortly after 3 p.m., with instruments concealed in Macy’s shopping bags, the two trumpeters began playing many favorite Christmas tunes. They performed multiple times throughout the store and just outside one of the entrances.

The crowds throughout the Macy’s store and just outside were delighted by the spectacle and the holiday cheer the musicians brought. In addition to providing great music the musicians were also able to talk to some children about their instruments and craft.

Right now ASC is working on a long-term plan for RACs in and around Charlotte. As always we can’t wait to tell you about all that we’re working on!
