Getting To Know CLT Class Member Ann Saari

Next month the Arts & Science Council will graduate 31 Charlotte professionals from the Cultural Leadership Training program. These leaders will go on to serve as board members or board trainees/apprentices at cultural organizations throughout Charlotte and Mecklenburg County.

Ann Saari is one member of this year’s class.

Length of time in Charlotte: 8 years

Why were you interested in CLT program? It is the perfect program for someone who wants to be involved in the community, but not sure which organization is the best fit for them. The program outline educates the group about the various organizations and also provides the tools to understand how non-profits operate.

Favorite arts/science/history activity: “Speed Dating” with over 10 different organizations.

Favorite thing about living in Charlotte: Warm weather in a picturesque city.

Favorite book: Geography of Nowhere and The Thank You Economy

Favorite band/musician: Too many favorites to pick just one!

Favorite movie: The Family Stone

Favorite vacation spot: Anywhere with a beach.
