Job Description

Title: Senior Vice President, Development and Investor Relations

Reports to: President/CEO

Interfaces with: Senior leadership, Executive Committee and Board of Trustees, volunteer leadership, Foundation Board, direct and indirect staff, investors, and business community leaders

 

Objective: Responsible for solidifying a robust and sustainable revenue and engagement model that will help the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance (CLT Alliance) and Charlotte Alliance Foundation deliver on its mission and strategic initiatives:

  • Ensuring a sound resource development plan that grows revenue and broadens the base of support for the organization and Foundation’s regional work
  • Building thoughtful relationships with existing, new, and prospective investors (ie, customers) through strategic engagement with the CLT Alliance in all interactions

 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):

  1. Designs, manages, and executes a sustainable, seamless revenue model to grow investment for the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance (501c6) and Charlotte Alliance Foundation (501c3)—and reports regularly to CEO, Executive Committee, Board of Trustees and Foundation Board
  2. Engages and supports executive and volunteer leaders to champion resource development efforts; works across Core, Foundation, Business, and Marketing teams to leverage technology and artificial intelligence to better prospect, cultivate, communicate with and engage investors
  3. Creates a robust investor relations onboarding and retention program that fortifies the connection to mission and strategic initiatives, and drives broad support for the CLT Alliance and Foundation within the region
  4. Cultivates investors by building relationships, regular communications, and thoughtful interactions and engagement
  5. Leads Investor Relations teams (comprising of Business Development and Engagement) to effectively: a) prospect revenue; b) steward investment through opportunities that align strategic initiatives with investor and philanthropic interests; and c) create dynamic, next-level engagement experiences through an engagement model that solidifies commitment to advancing the CLT Alliance and Foundation’s work
  6. Works with CFO to prepare forecasts and annual budgeting for all areas of revenue
  7. Handles all other duties as assigned by the President/CEO

 

Job Requirements:

  • Experience and ability to interact and influence decision-making at the highest level of management is required
  • Motivated by mission and able to champion and inspire purposeful work
  • Proven successful track record in non-profit fundraising, board resource development, customer engagement satisfaction, and building high-performance teams
  • Strong organizational management, financial acumen, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to effectively manage complex projects and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • 5+ years leadership experience (or 12+ years’ experience working) in non-profit fundraising for a regional business or industry coalition, chamber, economic development, or philanthropic organization; leadership and/or resource development experience in Charlotte Region a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree

Bi-Yearly Review with CEO

 

Compensation:

Salary and eligible incentive structure based on individual, team, and organizational performance metrics
