It’s a very special Friday because we’re just one day away from the Wells Fargo Community Celebration! This is your opportunity to take part in free cultural experiences throughout Uptown Charlotte. Visit museums, take part in arts activities and enjoy performances including a special concert by jazz great Branford Marsalis, all for FREE! Below you’ll find a small selection of some of the great stuff going on Saturday.

Opera Express Pinocchio
Opera Carolina will provide a performance Opera Express children’s opera production – PINOCCHIO in celebration of the Wells Fargo Community Celebration.

Join the North Carolina Dance Theatre in celebration of the Wells Fargo Community Celebration for a special performance of Mark Diamond’s Bolero.

Bechtler Museum of Modern Art Free Admission Day

GanttFest! 2011
GanttFest! 2011: Our Lives, Our Stories will link with the Wells Fargo Community Celebration this year. The Gantt Center and other local arts organizations will offer free performances and open our doors without charge throughout the day.

Photo and Film Fun at the Factory
The Light Factory will offer children’s films throughout the day in BB&T room in Spirit Square in a festival of great kid-friendly films. In our galleries we will offer tours of our exhibits, “Streetwise: Masters of ‘60’s Photography” and “The Night Time is the Right Time”. Along with the tours we will have darkroom activities and animation experiences for people of all ages.
