According to the Corporation for National and Community Service, an independent federal agency, 25.2% of adults volunteered in Charlotte in 2008, contributing 34.5 million hours and $960.9 million of service. A wide range of local resources is available for individuals interested in getting more involved in our community. Please read on for some great places to start your search!

boardnetUSA™ is an interactive online tool serving 1) nonprofit boards recruiting board or committee members and 2) individuals seeking these leadership roles. Participating in this program is free; however, all individuals or nonprofits using this site are required to register and create a profile.

VolunteerMatch strengthens communities by making it easier for good people and good causes to connect. The organization offers a variety of online services to support a community of nonprofit, volunteer and business leaders committed to civic engagement. Our popular service welcomes millions of visitors a year and has become the preferred Internet recruiting tool for more than 68,000 nonprofit organizations.

Engage Charlotte’s mission is to work with city leaders, the business community and organizations to attract and retain young professionals in our community. The council is open to young professionals 21-39 with an interest in economic development, workforce development, civic engagement and Charlotte’s quality of life.
