Creative Leadership for Educators
ASC offers professional development opportunities for Principals, Educators, and Teaching Artists in the areas of Arts, Sciences, History, and Heritage. Current opportunities are listed below.
Working in partnership with the McColl Center for Art + Innovation, ASC sponsors opportunities for leadership development through the Innovation Institute. Attending the Innovation Institute provides instructional leaders an opportunity to engage in creative leadership development that directly links to the workplace.
- Principals: As part of the CMS Induction Program for Principals, participants in their 4th year of leadership attend the Innovation Institute, which lays the foundation for their Capstone Project where they dare to be different in their leadership during their 5th year of service.
- Teacher Leaders: Spring 2013 kicked off the new CMS Teacher Leader opportunity at the Innovation Institute. Led by artists and supported by professional executive coaches, participants experience creative challenges, explore the boundaries of their imaginations, and most important, develop the ability to clearly recognize, influence, and support creativity in others. Teachers will explore themes of courage in the face of struggle and how to unlock their creative voice.
