ASC Education in Schools Grant
Our Education School Grants ensure that Culture For All reaches PreK-12 students across the region. Through these grants, public and independent schools can access professional artists, scientists, historians and other cultural providers for education specific programming. This programming may involve on-site cultural experiences or visits to local cultural organizations. It could even include professional development for teaching staff.
Cultural Field Trips
In 2009, CMS had to make budget cuts that halted grade-wide field trips. While unfortunate, those cuts enabled us to creatively address a cultural shortage. As part of the Blueprint for Charlotte-Mecklenburg’s Cultural Education Partnership, ASC, CMS and ASC Cultural Partners are collaborating to develop curriculum-oriented field trips that give K-12 students the opportunity to engage with the arts in relevant, meaningful ways.
North Carolina Wolf Trap
Through active engagement and collaboration with teaching artists in music, drama, and creative movement, early childhood professionals gain a hands-on understanding of the connection between developmentally appropriate performing arts experiences and the acceleration of children’s learning.
